                            What does “Art Law” mean? The term includes any legal issue related to artists, fine art and art institutions, and therefore encompasses a variety of practice areas and settings. We represent clients in the following Art Law issues:

                            • Copyright infringement actions;
                            • Contracts for the sale of artwork;
                            • Licensing agreements;
                            • The improper damage or destruction of original artwork under the Visual Artists Rights Act (VARA);
                            • First Amendment issues related to “offensive” imagery in artwork;
                            • Insurance claims for damaged artwork; and
                            • Estate planning involving artwork or intellectual property rights
