Andrew D. Epstein is a principal in the firm of Barker, Epstein & Loscocco, a full-service Boston, MA law firm.
Mr. Epstein represents hundreds of design and image professionals including photographers, illustrations, design firms, advertising agencies and other individuals and businesses involved in photography, art, illustration and imaging technology. In addition to general business law and litigation, Drew's practice focuses on copyright, trademark, contracts and litigation.
Mr. Epstein is an accomplished trial attorney with over twenty-five years of successful jury and non-jury trial and appellate court experience in both Massachusetts and Federal courts. He is a former president and a present member of the Board of Directors of the Photographic Resource Center at Boston University, an influential photographic arts organization.
Mr. Epstein has been a frequent guest lecturer to
academic, professional, business and legal groups on copyright and trademark
law, art law and general business law. He has also been a regular contributor
of law journal articles on copyright law, contract law and legal and business
issues for photographers and artists for Massachusetts Continuing Legal
Education, a joint project of the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations.
A long-standing member of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts of Massachusetts, Mr. Epstein has been honored for his dedication in providing legal assistance to
numerous artists and arts organizations on a pro-bono basis. He is a member
of the Copyright Society
of the U.S.A., the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) and the
Graphic Artists Guild.
Mr. Epstein received his Bachelor of Arts at Boston University in 1969 and his Juris Doctor at Boston University in 1972. He was admitted to the state bar in Massachusetts in 1972; U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts in 1974 and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims in 1992.
